Established in 1989, Les FrancoFolies de Montréal has become one of the most popular French festivals in the world. The primary focus of this festival is popular music performed in French or by artists from the French-speaking world. This unique event is widely considered to be the most comprehensive French music festival in the world, offering a diverse mixture of French music from Canadian and International artists.

Every popular music style is covered in this festival. Rock, pop, hip-hop, chanson, rai, folk, punk are only some of the musical styles that you will hear during the Francofolies. Many of the performances are free to the public and are held throughout the Quartier des Spectacles in Place des Arts. This pedestrian-friendly area of downtown Montreal offers the perfect venue for strolling from one concert venue to another.
