Igloofest is Montreal’s annual outdoor electronic music festival that takes place in Montreal’s Old Port during winter’s coldest months: January and February. In addition to the local talent, world renowned DJs and producers are featured in this one-of-a-kind winter festival. Along with great music, the festival features impressive visual projections as well as icy decors and steel structures. This One-of-a-kind music festival in North America features a rich and unique concept, turning the Old Port of Montreal into a huge Playground of nearly 4600 square meters. Igloofest brings together thousands of electronic music fans to dance under the stars at Montreal’s Old Port.
An annual tradition that started on the Old Port back in 2007, Igloofest is a 12-day outdoor electronic music festival that is spread out over the months of January and February. It’s broken down into four amazing weekends of great music from local and international DJs. Igloofest is not only known for the music but also the amazing video projection shows and architectural displays. You’ll also find beautiful decor including ice sculptures and colorful warehouse box-like stacks of light boxes. Besides the atmosphere and ice decoration, Igloofest’s success rests on the quality of its music programming, which draws from the best local and international DJs.
The festival also features the one-of-a-kind winterwear fashion competition known as “Iglooswag“. Taking place every weekend during the festival, Iglooswag encourages contestants to show off their one piece snowsuits for the chance to win various prizes. The contest welcomes snowsuits of every kind and crazy costumes as well. The pictures are then posted on the official Igloofest website.
During the cold winter nights in Montreal, Igloofest provides one of the hottest events in Montreal. The festival is co-produced by Piknic Electronik and the Quays of the Old Port. Over 100,000 festivalgoers attend this festival.
