Trinidad has an area of 4,800 square kilometers. Trinidad is a paradise island for visitors who are interested in hiking and those who want to immerse themselves in an environment that is surrounded by natural beauty.
Climate
Because of its geographic location, the island of Trinidad experiences a subtropical climate that is characterised by high temperatures that are constant all year long. It is also known for its dry season from January to June and its humid season from July to December.
Hurricanes
Both Trinidad & Tobago are located just below the hurricane belt. As a result, both islands rarely experience hurricanes. The last hurricane on record for both islands occurred in Tobago with Hurricane Flora in 1963.
Birdwatching
Birdwatching is one of the most popular tourist activities in Trinidad. Altogether, over 450 species of birds have been recorded on both islands. This biodiversity, which was inherited from the South American mainland, which Trinidad & Tobago were once attached, makes the islands a favored destination for birdwatchers.
