After joining Major League Baseball’s American League (AL), the Blue Jays played their first game in 1977. During their first initial years, they finished at the bottom of the AL before becoming division champions in 1985. In 1989, the Blue Jays began playing their home games in the Skydome, now known as Rogers Centre. They finally won the MLB championship in 1992 and 1993.
