Getting To Melbourne By Plane
Melbourne, along with Sydney, are the hub cities in Australia. Melbourne, the capital of Victoria has daily links to Europe, Asia and the U.S. by direct flights from various international companies (Qantas, British Airways, etc..). Melbourne is also connected to the rest of Australia by various Domestic flights (Qantas, Ansett).
Airport Connections
Melbourne’s Airport, Tullamarine, is about 22 kilometers from Melbourne’s central business district. Skybuses travel 24 hours a day to and from the airport to Southern Cross Station. They also pick up and drop off visitors at city hotels. Between 6.30am and 6.30pm, buses leave every 15 minutes. The journey takes about 25 minutes. Taxi fares between the city and the airport are about $45. There are no train or tram links.
