TKTS booths<\/strong> allow you to purchase same-day Broadway tickets at up to 50% discount price. With TKTS, you can generally save between 20% to 50% off the full ticket price of a Broadway show. The downside to this is that you have to stand in a long line to make your purchase, even in the winter time. It\u2019s also important to mention that the shows offered by TKTS are not necessary the headliner shows with the biggest draw, but their selection of shows is still pretty impressive.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Since it is the closest TKTS booth to Broadway, the TKTS ticket booth in Times Square<\/a> is the most popular TKTS booth in New York City. It features plenty of same-day tickets to Broadway and off-Broadway shows. Available shows are posted on marquees outside the ticket booth. If you plan on using this booth, it is suggested to get there early and be prepared to wait in line for quite some time. You may sometimes have to wait for over an hour to purchase your tickets.\r\nLocation<\/strong>: Located “under the red steps” In Father Duffy Square on Broadway and 47th Street\r\nHours<\/strong>: At this location, all tickets are sold for same-day performances; you cannot purchase evening tickets during matinee ticket hours.\r\nFor Evening Performances<\/strong>: \r\nMonday – Saturday: 3 – 8 p.m.\r\nSunday: 3 p.m. until 30 minutes before latest curtain time\r\nFor Matinee Tickets<\/strong>: \r\nWednesday & Saturday: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.\r\nSunday: 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n

Along with the Times Square booth, there are two additional TKTS booths located in New York City: South Street Seaport<\/a> and Brooklyn<\/a>. It is recommended to visit the South Street Seaport and Brooklyn booths for shorter wait times. The Times Square Booth sells day-of-performance tickets only. The South Street Seaport Booth sells tickets to evening performances on the day of the performance, and matinee tickets the day before. The Downtown Brooklyn Booth sells tickets to evening performances on the day of the performance, and matinee tickets the day before as well tickets to Brooklyn performing arts events.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

All locations sell tickets at 50%, 40%, 30% and 20% off full-price (plus a $4.00 per ticket service charge, which helps support the TDF<\/a>, the organization responsible for maintaining the TKTS booths). Availability and ticket inventory change throughout the day. Matinee tickets are sold on the day before the performance at TKTS Downtown Brooklyn and TKTS South Street.
