The Theatre District<\/strong> is located in Midtown Manhattan<\/a> and is sometimes called Midtown West<\/strong>. It is where most Broadway theatres<\/a> are located, as well as many other theatres, movie theatres, restaurants, hotels and other places of entertainment. The Theatre District a popular tourist attraction because of the various flagship stores, big Broadway productions and live television studios that are located in the area. Times Square<\/a> is also located in the Theatre District.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n

There are many famous theatres located in the Theatre District. Many of these theatres date back to the early 20th century, which explains their size and seating arrangements. The theatres in this district are not known for their luxurious lobby or comfortable seating. However, these theatres make up for what they lack in comfort for with top quality production. Some of the more famous theaters are The Winter Garden, the Helen Hayes Theater, the Music Box, the Minskoff, the Palace, and the Majestic.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

NYC\u2019s Theatre District is home to nearly 40 theatres that stage nightly and matinee shows. Because many of the shows in the Theatre District tend to be high-quality shows, many of the world\u2019s top stars have performed in theatres in the Theatre District. Some of the top shows can be sold out months in advance.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n
