This popular motor sports event draws enthusiastic crowds from across the globe to celebrate and cheer on the greatest drivers in the world. <strong>Formula One Grand Prix du Canada<\/strong>, also known as the <strong>Canadian Grand Prix<\/strong> is a 3-day Formula One event that takes place on Jean Drapeau Park\u2019s Circuit Gilles- Villeneuve which is located on \u00cele Notre-Dame. It has been part of the Formula One World Championship since 1967. The race itself consists of 70-lap competition covering 4361 meters of the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. All of the top names in Formula One racing attend this event This includes top brands such as Ferrari, McLaren, Honda, Williams and Lotus. Although the main events take place during a 3-day period, Montreal dedicates an entire week to F1 festivities during the Formula One Grand Prix du Canada<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The Canadian Grand Prix is one the major sporting events in North America. But Grand Prix is not just about the race. Even if you are not a racing fan, there are still plenty of activities you can take part in. During the Grand Prix du Canada, the entire Island of Montreal turns into one big party. Known to partygoers as Grand Prix weekend, the city comes alive with outdoor parties and spectacular F1 celebrations. Outdoor concerts, modified cars, car parades and display kiosks are only part of what you&#8217;ll experience during Grand Prix Weekend. Of course, if you&#8217;re really lucky, you may be able to see the actual race car drivers or other celebrities roaming the streets.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>During the Grand Prix weekend, one of the most popular destinations is Crescent Street, where the annual <strong>Crescent Street Festival<\/strong> takes place. During the Grand Prix, Crescent Street, between Sherbrooke Street and Saint Catherine Street is transformed a free venue for race fans, tourists and locals wanting to take part in the Grand Prix celebrations. The festival draws large crowds, with driver appearances, autograph sessions and DJs mixing the hottest music all day long. Other activities taking place on Crescent street include racing simulators, race car displays and so much more. Along with various activities that take place during the day, there are also live performances on the main stage by top Canadian bands along with plenty of free giveaways from various sponsors. Over 500,000 people attend the annual the Crescent St. festival alone.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Not to be outdone by Crescent Street, other popular downtown streets host their own F1 events. St. Laurent Boulevard, also known as the Main, is closed off to cars every year during the Canadian Grand Prix, attracting thousands of party-goers and casual onlookers. There are also various activities taking place on Peel Street and other hotspots around the downtown core.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The Canadian Grand Prix is one of the most popular Summer events in Montreal, drawing millions of tourists and spectators annually. It is recognized as one of Canada&#8217;s most important tourist event in terms of economic impact and international media coverage. It is also one of the best attended motor sports event in the world. In 2005, the Canadian Grand Prix was the most watched Formulate One Grand Prix in the world.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>During the Grand Prix, Montreal is filled with fans from all over the world, particularly Europeans.
