The festival takes place over several days and nights and features music from dawn till dusk.<\/p>\r\n<h2>The Reggae Sumfest<\/h2>\r\n<p>Every year, the organizers of the Reggae Sumfest deliver a star-studded line-up of local and international artists. For one sizzling summer week, the streets of Montego Bay are electrified with the hottest dancehall artists, the biggest name in reggae and top international acts.<\/p>\r\n<h2>History of the Reggae Sumfest<\/h2>\r\n<p>The first Reggae Sumfest was held in 1993 and took place from August 11 to 14. Since then , the festival has grown and is now widely regarded as the world\u2019s premier reggae music event. Over the past years, the festival has sought to showcase the best in reggae music, featuring such artists as Dean Paul, Shaggy, Damian marley, Beenie Man, Sizzla, Maxi Priest , Buju Banton and many other Reggae artists. It also features other acts such as Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, Rihanna and Snoop Dogg.<\/p>\r\n<h2>Reggae Sumfest Themes<\/h2>\r\n<p>At the Sumfest, There are various themed evenings, some of which include Danceclass, Dancehall Night, Reggae night and International Night. Every summer, more than 100,000 spectators from all around the world attend this event.<\/p>\r\n<h2>Reggae Sumfest Advice<\/h2>\r\n<p>If you are planning to attend the Reggae Sumfest, here is some advice to help you enjoy this popular event. Don\u2019t be late! Book early as hotels tend to sell out pretty fast. While at the festival, indulge at the various food stations. They are a great way to get a taste of Jamaican cuisine. Bring a friend. Dress comfortably. A typical festival day ends at 6AM so bring comfortable shoes as well.
